Boer Goats
Hensbury Farm spent 2006 and 2007 purchasing some of the finest show goats from well established producers in
Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania.  We had some successes despite my inexperience in the show ring including the
Grand Champion Percentage Doe in the OMGA September Spectacular Show.  Since I have a small farm, I only have
room to breed the most correct, best mothering, meatiest goats.

This February, the brood does have produced a fabulous crop of meaty wethers, well balanced does and perhaps a
buck or two well worth breeding, we'll see as they grow out.

wethers for sale this spring.  Wethers will sell for $100-$300 each.  You are welcome to visit the
farm in Waite Hill, Lake County, Ohio, to check them out in person anytime.  Just call me at 216-832-4495 or e-mail me
at
hensburyfarm@yahoo.com to set up a time.  Wethers will be ready to go home by mid-April (or I can keep them until
school is out if you prefer).  Payment is due at time wether is reserved.

Below are pictures, descriptions and pedigrees of a few animals.  (I plan to get them all documented in the next couple
of weeks.)  All animals except Mercury, my gentle giant of a buck, are for sale.  I only keep 7-10 does to breed over the
winter and I like to keep a mix of ages and some fullblood as well as percentage does so I'm happy to sell older
experienced moms or doelings.  Does are bred naturally and kept on forage with limited pellet supplement over the
summer as I believe they should be managed and selected for breeding to live up to their fundamental purpose as
easy keeper, efficient, meat producers.
Hill Place Mercury                12/31/06
Not his best picture but you can see how he's deep
with a broad chest and meaty backside.  Notice how far
apart his eyes are, a classic sign of a big muscular boer.
Mercury is a lamb to work with, a trait he inherited from
his father so I'm assuming his bucklings and wethers
will have a similar disposition.  His father is the enobled
Downen Pipeline's Sparkplug and all of his grand
parents and great grandparents on his sire's side are
enobled including Pipeline, Lobola S.A., Downen Big 85
and Mojo Magic.  He is the herd sire for all the kids born
this February 2008.
Notice how deep this doe, Hannah, is.
She also has that long elegant neck
and sturdy bone structure the judges
are looking for.   She is successfully
mothering 3 babies at the moment.
Wish I looked that good less then 24
hours after having babies.
This doe, LBCS Bates W30, won Grand
Champion Percentage Doe at the 2007
OMGA September Spectacular.  She
had one enormous doeling (10 pounds
at birth) with no problems during her
first kidding.
